LOGAN, OH (WCMH) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a 36-year-old Logan man has died after a crash Monday on S.R. 328.

According to investigators, a juvenile was driving a Toyota Prius northbound on SR 328 in a construction zone. A Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Lafe Barnett Jr, 36, had been directed to stop in the northbound lane of SR 328 by Shelly and Sands flagger Lora Parker, 49.

The Prius struck the motorcycle in the rear end, overturning and pushing the motorcycle off the right side of the roadway. The Prius then struck Parker, throwing her into the side of a parked vehicle.

Barnett and Parker were air lifted to Grant Hospital for incapacitating injuries sustained as a result of the crash. The juvenile driver was not injured as a result of the crash. Barnett died of his injuries on Wednesday, the Patrol said.

Neither alcohol or drug use are suspected factors in the crash.
