COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus Police said Monday night that a murder suspect wanted in Morrow County was taken into custody in the city.
According to police, Brian Lee was involved in a pursuit on I-71 South in Delaware County near the 36/37 exit into Franklin County. He was pursued by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and sheriff’s deputies from Delaware and Morrow counties.
Columbus Police were able to apprehend him after he ditched the vehicle at Grasmere Avenue and Weldon Avenue.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Office said Lee was taken into custody at 8:55 p.m.
Nicole L. Kinder, 26, who was with Lee at the time he was arrested, was taken into custody as well. She is being charged with receiving stolen property, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
Police have not released the nature of the relationship between Lee and Kinder at this point.
According to the Morrow County’s Sheriff’s Office, Lee is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting of two people — a man and a woman — early Monday morning in Harmony Township. The sheriff’s office said two other people were injured in the incident.
The Delaware County’s Sheriff’s Office said Lee was being booked into Delaware County jail for the night on the initial charges he’s facing tied to his alleged role in the double killing, and that more charges in relation to the pursuit may be filed at some point.
