Monday is NBC4's Family Discount Day at the Fair -- get all the details on how to save

COLUMBUS (WCMH) -- The Ohio State Fair is happening until August 5, but on Monday, NBC4 and the Fair are offering discounts to save families some money.

The NBC4 Family Discount Day is July 30th. Until 6 pm, adults will be admitted for $8 (the price of regular admission for kids), and kids 12 and under get admitted for free.

The Henderson family was enjoying their first time at the State Fair.

"We're actually a military family and were just stationed in Dayton last summer so this is our first time here to the Columbus fair," said Maureen, who was there with her husband Michael and daughter Violet.

"Lots of yummy stuff, cotton candy or a lemonade, yes, lots of yummy stuff," said Violet, listing off some of her favorite things.

"I like big rides and little rides like the kiddie rides."

The rides are another part of the NBC4 Family Discount Day. With the purchase of one wristband, a second rider can ride free until 6pm with a hand stamp. After 6pm, all riders will need either a wristband or vouchers to ride.

The Hendersons encouraged other families to take advantage of Family Discount Day.

"Anytime you can take advantage and not have to pay as much to get in that would be great! A discount is always good. A discount is always good and more money for fair food and rides."

The fair opens at 9am on Monday and closes at 10pm.
