COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Two men are facing a felony charge, accused of dropping objects from an overpass on to moving traffic, at the beginning of Monday evening’s rush hour.

According to police, Kenneth Blackwell and Shakim Hail were spotted dropping the items from the 11th Avenue overpass, which crosses above I-71.

Officers say several drivers alerted them to the incident, and the two men were quickly arrested before any cars were hit.

Police tell NBC4, those drivers acted appropriately in notifying them of what they saw. They urge other drivers to report similar activity, if they see it.

“Pay attention and call us,” said Sgt. Chantay Boxill. “Even if they don’t hit you, call us so we can prevent them from hitting someone else.”

Blackwell and Hail are charged with vehicular vandalism, which Boxill said is a felony due to the danger the two men posed.
