Meet Max: He is a Brittany Spaniel-Beagle mix on a mission to find rescue dogs, like himself, a loving forever home.
NBC4 Today Weekend Anchor Hattie Hawks and her husband adopted Max from a small Central Ohio rescue called Pets Without Parents. Every week, Max and Hattie introduce viewers to other rescue dogs in search of forever homes.
This week, Max and Hattie stopped by Stop the Suffering to meet four Beagle-mix puppies who are looking for their forever homes.
These four puppies — two males and two females — are just about as cute as they come, but when they first came to Stop the Suffering, life wasn’t easy for them.
“They came to me with mange, they were treated for skin problems, they have lost quite a bit of hair and that is now growing back,” said Michelle Neville with Stop the Suffering. “Two of them broke with Parvo. Thy fought through it and they are doing really well.”
All four pups have been cleared by the vet, vaccinated and are ready to go. These resilient puppies are full of energy and really playful.
“They are sweet. Some of them are independent where they don’t need another dog to play with,” Neville said. “They love dogs in general and just playing constantly. If you are looking for a playmate that is going to keep you on your toes, these guys are perfect.”
The puppies would do best with a moderately active family. They love kids and other dogs, but they don’t necessarily need other dogs around.
The puppies have been with Stop the Suffering for about a month now. They are 14 weeks old and will soon be spayed and neutered.
