Meet Max: He is a Brittany Spaniel-Beagle mix on a mission to find rescue dogs, like himself, a loving forever home.
NBC4 Today Weekend Anchor Hattie Hawks and her husband adopted Max from a small Central Ohio rescue called Pets Without Parents. Every week, Max and Hattie introduce viewers to other rescue dogs in search of forever homes.
This week, Hattie and Max stopped by the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center to meet shelter-favorite Fifi, a 9-year-old mixed breed who is ready to find her forever home.
Fifi came to the shelter as a stray last month and has been stealing hearts at the shelter ever since.
“She loves everyone she meets,” Hanna Chandoul, an intern at the shelter, said. “She is an all-around fantastic dog.”
Fifi is super affectionate and loves to give kisses. She also thinks she’s a lapdog.
“She loves chairs,” Chandoul said. “Chairs are her number one favorite. She will take a chair and jump into it, especially if you are sitting in it.”
Although the shelter doesn’t test dogs around cats, it seems like Fifi may have lived with them in her former life.
She loves meeting people and would do best with a laid-back family that loves cuddle sessions and walks.
Fifi is just one of the many dogs that will be available for adoption at this year’s Clear the Shelters event. On Aug. 18, the Franklin County Dog Shelter will be cutting adoption fees for all dogs to just the cost of a dog license.
