No business at Angel’s Touch Asian Spa and Happy Body massage parlors because investigators say they believe human trafficking was happening.

“I’ve heard rumors,” said Katie Whitehead.

This was no rumor, according to the city of Hilliard.

Two civil complaints were filed against the property owners of two massage parlors, which are less than a half mile from each other. The complaints state undercover officers were offered sexual services for tips when they only went in for an hour massage.

Now, the spas are closed. Boards cover the front doors. Neighbors say they never really thought this was going on.

“It’s also just kind of shocking, you work across from this place for so many years and you have our suspicions,” said Chelsea Cremaen.

She says now looking back on what they saw, it should have been a red flag.

“I always noticed that only men were coming in and out I never seen a woman come and get a massage. So, that was kind of off to me.”

Whitehead works right across the street from Angel’s Touch Asian Spa and was there when the business was closed down.

She says she felt bad to see how many women were inside and could only imagine what they went through.

“There were quite a few women coming out which shocked me because I’ve only seen one or two in the past year. I feel bad for the women.”

None of the women inside will be charged, but there are civil lawsuits against the property owners who the city prosecutor tells NBC4 were told about the activity happening at both locations.
