Man killed in motorcycle crash near Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, OH (WCMH) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash near Johnstown that left a motorcyclist dead. 

According to the OSHP, at about 5:40pm, Sunday, a 2017 Suzuki GSX-R600L7 motorcycle driven by Joseph Moriarty, 43, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 62, when a 2007 Dodge Caliber traveling westbound on U.S. 62, driven by Robert Black, 41, failed to yield while turning left onto T.R. 27.  

Moriarty was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  

Troopers continue to investigate the crash, but say Moriarty was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
