Man in critical condition after shooting in south Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police are investigating a shooting in south Columbus that left a man in critical condition.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 9:06pm, Wednesday, officers were called to the 1900 block of Lockbourne Road, on an original report of a stabbing.

However, when officers arrived on scene they found Albert Robinson, 47, suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. 

Robinson was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses told police, an unknown male hiding behind a tree fired a single gunshot, striking Robinson.

The suspect then ran from the area.

Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to call CPD Assault at 614-645-4011 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477.
