Victim expected to survive south Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A woman is in critical condition but expected to survive after a shooting on the South Side.

Columbus police were called to the 900 block of Bruckner Road about 4:15 a.m. Tuesday on a reported shooting. There they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. She was taken to Grant Medical Center and rushed into surgery.

The victim was originally reported as male.

Police do not have further information on a suspect or a motive. They ask anyone with information to call Columbus police at 614-645-4373 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477.
