Man goes missing while tubing on Kokosing River in Knox County

Dive teams are searching for a man who went missing while tubing on the Kokosing River.

According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, at about 5:04pm, Thursday, 911 dispatchers received a call about a possible drowning on the Kokosing River near the Caves Campground.

Deputies say that a group of four people had been tubing on the river when an incident occurred.

A 42-year-old female was rescued while holding onto a branch. However, 40-year-old Mark Booth, of Mount Vernon, who had also been in the water, could not be located.

Dive teams, and emergency crews in boats searched the area, but Booth was not located.

The search will continue Friday morning, according to officials.
