Richard Spirnak was found guilty of two counts of murder in Franklin County Common Pleas Court today after an altercation at an east side bus stop led to another man’s death.
Spirnak’s bond was revoked and his sentencing is scheduled at 9 a.m. March 4.
Spirnak was initially charged with one felony count of assault after investigators said he was the man who fought with Brandon Nicholson on July 23, 2018.
Columbus police were called to a bus stop at James Road and East Main Street on Monday, July 23 at approximately 8:04p.m. on the report of a fight.
Responding officers found an unresponsive male, later identified as Nicholson, 41, suffering from a head injury.
Columbus Fire medics transported Nicholson to Grant Medical Center where he remained in critical condition until Monday, July 30, when he succumbed to his injuries and died.
