Man dies days after shooting in southwest Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A man has died days after being shot in southwest Columbus. 

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 10:14pm, May 31, officers were called to the 1500 block of Marsdale Avenue on the report of a person lying in the roadway. 

When officers arrived on scene, they found Marques Lamar Johnson, 35, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  

Johnson was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. On June 2, Johnson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.  

Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information to call the CPD Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477.
