MARION, OH (WCMH) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says an 87-year-old man has passed away six days after a crash in Marion.

Troopers say the crash happened Thursday, July 12 at 3:35pm at Owens Road and Maple Grove Road in Marion County.

Troopers say 87-year-old Emmett Ledford was northbound on Maple Grove Road in a 2017 Hyundai Entourage and stopped at Owens Road. He failed to yield attempting to turn left on Owens Road, and hit an oncoming 2013 Freightliner. Both vehicles were pushed off of the south side of the roadway.

Ledford was transported to Marion General Hospital and later taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.

Ledford died July 18 at Grant.
