COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The Columbus Division of Police says a man has been arrested and charged with murder for allegedly stabbing his roommate to death.

Police say officers were called to the 5600 block of Hibernia Drive at 4:21am Thursday on the report of a stabbing.

Officers found a man, identified as 27-year-old Kendrick D. Wilkerson, lying inside the apartment with “numerous” stab wounds. He was pronounced deceased at 4:37am.

Wilkerson’s roommate, 26-year-old Anthony C. L. Wofford III, was arrested for his murder. Police say the two had a dispute that escalated into a physical altercation, and Wofford stabbed Wilkerson several times.

This is the 50th homicide in the city of Columbus in 2018.
