COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The Franklin County Grand Jury has indicted a man after he allegedly forced a woman into a vacant apartment, tied her up, and raped her.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says Raymond Billy Sims, 61, was indicted for three counts of rape and one count of kidnapping.

He allegedly held a knife to the victim’s neck and forced her into the vacant apartment, where he tied her up and raped her. O’Brien says Sims left the victim alone eventually, and she was able to free herself and escape.

Police contacted the property owner of the vacant apartment, who was able to provide the name of one of his employees that matched the description.

Sims was arrested May 11 and will be arraigned May 23.
