MARION, OH (WCMH) — A man has been accused of bringing marijuana into North Central Correctional Complex in Marion.

According to a court affidavit, John Corbin attempted to bring the drug into the prison July 9, 2018. He was caught carrying “eight black balls that were wrapped in electrical tape.” A corrections officer reportedly caught Corbin with the balls, and opened one to discover a clear plastic bag with “green plant material” inside.

Corbin admitted in an interview he had received the balls from an individual who met him at his apartment complex. Corbin said he was supposed to be paid $100 for bringing the drugs into the prison.
