COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus violinist Joanna Frankel has an opportunity to practice with Paganini’s violin before she uses it in a concert Wednesday evening.

“Il Cannone” arrived in Columbus Friday and will be on display at the Columbus Museum of Art through Sunday. Frankel will use the instrument for a concert Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Ohio Theatre.

The violin, valued at $35 million, was once owned by Niccolò Paganini. Now, the 275-year-old instrument rarely leaves its home in Genoa, Italy.
