The James Preston Poindexter Foundation unveiled a new sign that will sit outside of a museum dedicated to teaching Columbus about the history of Poindexter village.
Roughly, 30 people were there when they started the unveiling.
It showed that a historic museum is in the works that will teach the history of this area.
Reita Smith is apart of the foundation.
“Our Afro-American history in this community is not appreciated and not valued and this is the way for us preserving that history,” Smith said.
There is no date set for the museum to open.
