Licking Heights High School closed after threat made over social media

PATASKALA, OH (WCMH) — A threat on social media aimed at Licking Heights High School has police investigating.

According to the Pataskala Division of Police, officers were made aware of a specific threat on social media that was aimed towards Licking Heights High School. 

Police say they are investigating the validity of the threat and the person involved. 

A spokesperson with the Licking Heights High School says the school was closed Monday as a precaution.

A tweet by the school district also announced that all after-school activities for the high school have been canceled Monday, as police continue the investigation.
