Members of the LGBTQIA community and its allies are joining forces to get people to vote early.
Come out to vote is more than just a play on words. It’s about getting members of the LGBTQIA community to have their voices heard.
Members of the Come out to Vote coalition said this is a statewide effort that is headquartered in Columbus.
Michael Smithson, a coalition organizer, said he wanted this event to occur on National Coming Out Day.
“As a minority community, we have over 1.3 million LGBT voters nationwide. That vote can really make a difference,” Smithson said.
Organizers are considering doing this again next year.
