Large fire reported at Fayette County hog barn

Local News

FAYETTE CO., Ohio (WCMH) — Firefighters from multiple agencies are on the scene of a barn fire in Wayne Township.

Officials with the Wayne Township Fire Department say they received a call about a fire at a hog barn on Old US 35 just before 4pm Tuesday. Several taker trucks are on standby in case firefighters need more water.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says a medical helicopter responded to the scene to take three burn victims to a Columbus Hospital.

The barn is located at the same farm where 5,000 pigs were killed in a fire in June, 2018. Officials say there are two barns on the property now, housing approximately 1,800 hogs.
