Jenkins arrested for murder

Columbus police have arrested Nathan Jenkins in connection with the murder of Chasmine Richardson, who died on Saturday, February 16 after being shot on Loeffler Avenue.

According to police, officers were called to the area of Bryden Road and Loeffler Avenue on the report of numerous gunshots on February 12, 2019.

Upon arrival, Officers found Chasmine lying in the road with multiple gunshot wounds. Medics took her to Grant Medical Center with critical injuries that she ultimately would not survive, and she was pronounced deceased today, February 16, 2019 at 1:20 p.m., say police.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and suspect knew each other and that the shooting was the result of a failed robbery attempt,” said officers.

Jenkins will appear in court on February 19 to be arraigned.
