High winds pushed trees, buildings, and fear to the limit on Spruce Drive this Sunday evening.

Keegan Wright saw the calm before the storm outside his window.

“I look out open my curtain. There it was. I seen it spin right over the last unit across from me,” said Wright.

He started to run to the basement.

“I grabbed my dog and was trying to force it out the room, this thing is just coming. They were spinning really fast and dark and grey,” said Wright.

He took one last  look outside.

“Stuff was just going everywhere. My dad’s grill, I seen it fly out of the yard,” said Wright.

His neighbors were also stunned. Emily Hanscel’s husband raced to get the family to safety.

“He just opened the door and that’s when all of our windows shattered,” said Hanscel.

Just a mile away from that neighborhood, a pharmaceutical company on Rickenbacker Parkway has substantial damage.  A wall fell with more than 100 employees inside.

Several had minor injuries. Just one street over, another building on Wright Brothers Avenue a wall collapsed.
