High winds knock brick wall onto cars in Columbus parking lot

Local News

A brick wall from the Harvard Square Apartments came crashing down on to seven cars belonging to people working at Upreach.

Officials believe a gust of wind could be responsible for the structure falling.

“I heard a big bang outside,” said Sarah Lonn who It sounded like something from the dumpster like the garbage people were here or something. At first, I thought it wasn’t that bad or the damage wasn’t that horrible. It didn’t look that bad from this side but the other side you could just tell so many people’s windows are just completely busted, broken in. There are some cars that are totaled out here.”

Charlene Woods said she didn’t know it happened until a co-worker broke the news.

“One of my co-workers came in to get me, and she said, ‘I think a brick fell on your car?’ But when I came outside, it was way more than a brick sitting on top of my car.” said Woods. “I just automatically started screaming.”

She said she’s parked here for 13 years without hesitation.

Woods is happy that only her car was damaged.

“Oh my God! If I was sitting in the front seat I would have been complete crushed because there’s huge bricks sitting right inside.”

Storms that passed through Pataskala could be responsible for this bent canopy at Busters Corner Store as well.
