Health District says no food samples from Powell Chipotle tested positive for harmful bacteria

DELAWARE, OH (WCMH) — All food samples from a Chipotle in Powell tested negative for harmful bacteria, according to the Delaware General Health District. 

The Ohio Department of Health returned food sample test results to health officials in Delaware. According to Traci Whittaker, Public Information Officer for the district, all food samples tested negative for B. cereus, C. perfringens, Staphylococcal enterotoxin, Salmonella, Shigella and Shiga-like toxin-producing E.coli.”

The Ohio Department of Health sent stool samples for further testing to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 

Health District staff say they have identified 644 people who reported gastrointestinal symptoms after eating from the Chipotle on Sawmill Parkway between July 26-July 30.
