DELAWARE, OH (WCMH) — Rutherford B. Hayes High School in Delaware is closed Thursday due to a reported threat.

According to a message sent to parents by Superintendent Paul Craft, the district reported the threat to Delaware police late afternoon.

“Significant evidence has been obtained and one individual is in police custody tonight,” Craft said in the message.

Craft said the school will be closed Thursday in order to allow for time to fully investigate the situation and make sure nobody else is involved.

According to Delaware police, one person is in custody and is speaking with investigators. Police did not specify whether or not that person is a student.

All other Delaware City Schools buildings will remain open Thursday, but with an increased security presence.
