The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has ruled the death of Amber Evans, a 28-year-old woman, whose body was found in the Scioto River, a suicide.

Diphenhydramine and Acetaminophen were in her system at the time of her death, according to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine, and Acetaminophen is used to treat minor aches and pains and reduces fever.

Her body was recovered from the water in the area of the Whittier Street Peninsula on Saturday, March 23, according to Columbus police.

Evans had been missing since Jan. 28 when she disappeared after a domestic dispute. She was reported missing at about 9 p.m.

Police say Evans’ vehicle was found near the Scioto Mile area after a dispute with her boyfriend.

Both the Columbus police and Franklin County Sheriff deputies had been searching for Evans since she was reported missing.
