Fort Hayes Metropolitan High School choir to join forces with TBDBITL for halftime show

Local News

It may not be The Voice or come with the millions of viewers who watch the show, but for one local choir, their Saturday afternoon performance will certainly feel like prime time.

The 35-member Fort Hayes Metropolitan High School choir will join the Ohio State University Marching Band on the field during halftime for a halftime show called “I Have a Dream.” The show is a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.

At practice Friday, the excitement was in the air as students made final preparations for their big performance.

“It was really great standing there and watching the magic happen right before my eyes,” Fort Hayes student Selena Ramirez said. “Seeing the band and seeing how everything comes together — it was truly great.“

This isn’t the first time the choir has taken to the field with TBDBITL. When the band performed their Michael Jackson tribute, the choir provided some backup, singing along to “Man in the Mirror.”
