On the ball officers arrested a drunk driver who struck a barricade and drove into volunteers setting up for the African American Male Wellness Walk.

The driver, 32-year-old Matthew Mileigh Brown, struck a tree, an RV, two golf carts and two tables which volunteers had been setting up in anticipation of the wellness event. Several pedestrians, including children, narrowly avoided being struck by the Buick LeSabre.

Officer Lisa McKissick sprung into action when she saw the car on South 18th Street and East Livingston Avenue weave through the area. The Columbus Police Department Helicopter found Brown near the intersection of Parsons Avenue and East Markinson Avenue, and Officers G. Kennedy and S. Connair caught up to Brown near there.

Brown went into custody without further ado, and now finds himself facing OVI and other traffic charges.
