Deputy’s gun stolen during Berliner Park car break-in

Police in Columbus are looking for two people in connection with the theft of a backpack from an off-duty deputy’s car.

Sometime between 8pm and 10pm on May 2, someone broke into a car at Berliner Park while the victim was playing basketball.

According to Columbus police, the suspect stole a backpack containing a Franklin County deputy’s handgun, gun belt, knife and wallet. Before the victim could cancel his cards, they were used at the N&N Market on Sullivant Avenue and Speedway on Brown Road.
