Deputies identify husband, wife in murder-attempted suicide in southern Franklin Co.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, OH (WCMH)– Deputies have identified the husband and wife in an murder-attempted suicide in southern Franklin County.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, at about 5:43pm, Sunday, deputies were called to the 1600 block of Spruce Drive on the report of a domestic situation. 

When deputies arrived on scene they found Crystal Clay, 45, with a stab wound to her neck and her husband, Timothy Clay, 46, with an apparent self-inflicted stab wound.

The incident was originally reported as a shooting, but deputies confirmed it was a stabbing at the residence. 

Crystal Clay was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Timothy Clay was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. 

Deputies are investigating the stabbing as an murder-attempted suicide, and have charged Timothy Clay with the murder of Crystal Clay.
