The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a dense fog advisory, which is in effect until 1 p.m.

Visibility is one-quarter mile or less at times, which will result in hazardous travel conditions. Some slick spots will also be possible.

Motorists should use extra caution.

Drivers are asked to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of them as objects on and near roadways will be seen only at close range due to low visibility.
