Law enforcement dubbed him the “Cupid of Chaos.”

His wives have other names for him that we can’t print.

It’s a story NBC 4’s Tom Sussi has been all over since it broke two weeks ago. He’s a 43-year-old drifter, a man accused of having four wives in four different states, including a developmentally disabled woman here in Central Ohio.

On a tip, Franklin County Sheriff deputies arrested Michael Middleton Feb. 8 on a pair of outstanding warrants.

A week ago, Middleton waived extradition to New Hampshire where he’s wanted on bigamy and domestic violence charges.

Alicia Grant, wife No. three, said she married Middleton Oct. 22, 2013, in Dover, New Hampshire.

“He makes you feel that he actually cares about you,” she said.

These three women said they know the feeling.

  •        Katie Lashley married Middleton December 12, 2006 in Savannah, Georgia.
  •        Kassondra Shipley married Middleton March 11, 2011 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
  •        Ashely Climer married Middleton April 11, 2016 in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

“He lied to me, he manipulated me, he brainwashed me,” said Climer.

Climer, who is developmentally disabled, lives in Columbus with her parents.

Last week, Climer and her mother, Lora, drove to Kentucky and filed a bigamy complaint with law enforcement.

The district attorney’s office in Dover, New Hampshire, told Sussi they are extraditing Middleton to face those bigamy and domestic violence charges.

Middleton is currently being held without bond.
