Wednesday, a caravan of cruisers made their way around Central Ohio, paying tribute to our law enforcement officers.
This is just one of the week’s events commemorating ‘Light Central Ohio Blue.’ The event carries some extra meaning for two men in one of those police cars.
Officer Chris Clites was truly one of our city’s finest. On December 10, 1993, the young Columbus police officer was shot and killed in the line of duty.
It’s really tough when you get the call and you’re the one that’s got to call your parents and tell them that your brother’s dead,” said Carmen Clites.
Carmen says he tries to go to every event that he can, in memory of his brother. Wednesday, he was riding with his brother-in-law, Commander Robert Meader.
“Every time you put the uniform on and I wear it every day, you think of Chris. You think of all the officers that have come before us,” said Meader.
