Crash between car and tractor in Marion County leaves one man dead

MARION, OH (WCMH) — Troopers are investigating after a head on crash between a car and a tractor left a man dead.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 6:42pm, Monday, DJ McClenathan, 26, of Edison, was driving a white 2008 Honda Civic westbound on county Road 166 near county Road 172 in Marion County. 

At the same time a Case 4994 farm tractor, driven by Scott Carter, 50, of Caledonia, was traveling eastbound in the area.

Troopers say that the two vehicles then struck head on.  

McClenathan was pronounced dead at the scene. A 7-year-old passenger in McClenthan’s vehicle was taken to Marion General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Carter was also taken to Marion General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Troopers say no charges have been filed at this time and the crash remains under investigation.
