COLUMBUS (WCMH) – More than a week after being relieved of duty Columbus Police Sergeant Dean Worthington pleaded not guilty before a Franklin County judge.
The 51-year-old is charged with three counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor and one count of illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material or performance.
The prosecution said he downloaded nearly 40 images of child porn to his phone and uploaded a picture of a naked boy to a social media site. The site notified the internet crimes against children task force back in May.
A judge set his bail at $35,000 and said he must have drug and alcohol screens He isn’t allowed to be around children without an adult present, and that includes his 17-year-old daughter.
He isn’t allowed to be on the internet, and the judge also ordered he be placed under house arrest.
