CPD officers rescue dog left tethered outside

Local News

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Officers on the south side of Columbus came to the rescue of a dog who was tied up outside in subzero temperatures.

Police say the dog’s owner is hospitalized and family would occasionally stop by to give food.

“That’s unacceptable in extreme weather like this,” the Columbus Division of Police said in a Facebook post.

Officers loaded the dog into a cruiser and brought him to a police substation. They fed the dog before bringing him to Columbus Humane.

“We know he will find a forever home!” CPD said.
