Columbus Police have identified the teenage girl shot and killed in east Columbus Saturday night.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of East Rich Street just after 8pm on the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a female, later identified as Tamara Lynette Dodson, 15, suffering from a gunshot wound. Dodson was taken to Grant Medical Center in extremely critical condition. She was pronounced dead just after 9pm.
After interviewing witnesses, police arrested a 16-year-old male and charged him with murder.
