COLUMBUS (WCMH) — In honor of the opening of the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, COTA is offering veterans free rides this weekend.

According to COTA, on October 27, veterans and active duty personnel can receive free rides in recognition of the grand opening of the National Veterans Memorial and Museum.

To take advantage of the free fares, riders must present a Veterans Identification Card or any other Military ID. Fares will be waived on both fixed-route and Mainstream service as an appreciation for service personnel.

Veterans will also receive free fares on Nov. 12, for the national observance of Veterans Day.

“There are 110,000 veterans in Franklin County, many of whom rely on COTA for their mobility needs. By offering free fares on these two days, COTA hopes to reach additional veterans and help them feel more comfortable using their services,” COTA released in a statement.
