COSHOCTON COUNTY,  OH (WCMH) — A small community is having a hard time since finding out about Samuel Walters’ death.  Someone found the teen’s body floating in a pond in Coshocton county Saturday.  At this moment police are still trying to figure out how the 15-year-old died. Amanda Johnson helped with the teen’s search when he first came up missing in late July.

“It’s shattering. It honestly is. It breaks my heart. It’s not the outcome that we wanted at all,” said Johnson.

Johnson held out hope that Walters would be reunited with his mother.

“Sammy was a good loving kid and he didn’t deserve this,” said Johnson.

Walters went missing on July 28th.

Johnson, along with other volunteers searched a pond and wooded area for hours trying to find the 15-year-old. Johnson’s Nephew was Walters’ friend and he was always around.

“He was loving. he loved his sports. he loved his friends and he loved the babies,” said Johnson.

NBC4 spoke with investigators about this case. They are limited on what they can release, but they did say they are still waiting on the results from Walters’ autopsy.

Johnson now has a message for Walters’ mother.

“I hope she finds peace,” said Johnson.
