COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One person suffered life-threatening injuries and another was injured after a reported stabbing on the west side of Columbus Sunday night.
According to Columbus police dispatchers, the stabbing happened at approximately 9:22 p.m. on the 1900 block of Vaughn Street in South Hilltop. Officers found 66-year-old Rhonda Jones suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Jones was taken to Grant Medical Center with life-threatening injuries while the second victim was treated at the scene. She died shortly afterward at 9:57 p.m.
Police did not say what led to the incident, but that they arrested Michael Wright, 69, who was found nearby from the scene. Wright is being charged with murder, but is currently being evaluated at a hospital while guarded by authorities.
