COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Two teenagers were injured in a shooting Monday night in downtown Columbus.

According to Columbus police, the shooting happened at approximately 9:18 p.m. in the area of West Rich Street and Civic Center Drive.

Officers found a 17-year-old teen suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his lower extremities, police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital in unstable condition but later upgraded to stable.

At approximately 9:41 p.m., officers were dispatched to a local hospital on a report of a second shooting victim. The victim, an 18-year-old male, told police he was riding his scooter on High Street when he was shot. Police were able to determine both victims were shot in the same incident.

Both victims are expected to recover from their injuries.

Police have not released any suspect information.
