COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A person is dead after a motorcycle crash in west Columbus.   

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 12:41 a.m., Wednesday, a male was driving a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle at a high rate of speed, northbound on N. Wilson Road, approaching Trabue Road, when he lost control of the vehicle and began sliding through the intersection.  

Police say the motorcycle struck the curb on the northeast corner of the intersection, before hitting a traffic control box.  

The driver, who has not been identified by police, was ejected during the crash and was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  

Police continue to investigate the crash.
