COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A 25-year-old woman has died and a 33-year-old man was detained after a shooting on the east side of Columbus Friday morning.

Officers responded to the 600 block of Kimball Pl. at 7:10 a.m. on Friday after report of a shooting, according to the Columbus Division of Police. Authorities found Josephine Banks, 24, suffering from a gunshot wound and transported her to Grant Medical Center. Banks was pronounced dead at 8:01 a.m.

Authorities arrested the suspect and boyfriend of Banks, Javier Inirio, 33, and took him to the Franklin County Jail.
