Columbus Police: Man admits to stabbing boyfriend, waits full day before calling police

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Police are investigating a deadly stabbing in northeast Columbus.  

Columbus police say the stabbing happened in the area of the 2700 block of Windham Club. 

When they arrived, the officers say they were met by the suspect, Davante W. Mitchell, who allegedly told police he had killed his boyfriend.

According to court documents, Mitchell allegedly stabbed 53-year old Alexander C. Wilson at approximately 11:20 a.m. Tuesday during an argument, then waited nearly 24 hours before calling police Wednesday at 11:06 a.m.

Medics pronounced Wilson dead at the scene.  

Mitchell has been charged with murder. This is the 120th homicide in Columbus for Calendar Year 2021.
