COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One man is dead following a shooting Saturday morning at the parking lot of a McDonald’s in south Columbus.

According to a Columbus police dispatcher, officers were called to a scene at a McDonald’s on the 3500 block of South High Street at 9:19 a.m. for reports of a shooting.

Officers found one man with a gunshot wound and had the victim taken to Grant Medical Center, per CPD. The victim, later identified as Christopher Mateen, 43, was pronounced dead at the hospital at 10:33 a..m.

Police said Mateen was trying to find his stolen vehicle at the time he was shot.

CPD’s assistant chief Gregory Bodker told NBC4 at the scene that the victim was a man who was shot in the parking lot of the store. Bodker said police are looking for three suspects and that the McDonald’s closed following the shooting.
