COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Two people have been transported to local hospitals following separate shootings Friday evening in north Columbus.
Authorities responded to Joyce Avenue and East 26th Avenue at 6:38 p.m. on Friday after report of a shooting, according to the Columbus Division of Police. The victim was transported to Grant Medical Center in serious condition.
In a Saturday morning update, CPD stated the victim of the shooting was an 18-year-old man who is expected to survive his injuries.
A second shooting occurred about four miles west in the 1200 block of East 24th Avenue at 10:12 p.m. on Friday, according to police. Officers found a 44-year-old woman who had been shot, prompting medics to take her to Grant Medical Center. She is in stable condition, per police.
In a Saturday morning release, CPD says that a 51-year-old man was in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with the female victim when it was shot at. The man was not shot during the shooting.
