One hospitalized after north Columbus apartment fire

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One person is hospitalized after a fire overnight Sunday at a north Columbus apartment.

A spokesperson with the Columbus Division of Fire said several crews were sent to a second-floor apartment at the 5800 block of Place De La Concorde Street West in Northland just after 3 a.m. for a two-alarm fire at the complex.

A man was found outside the building suffering from burns. He was taken to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in serious condition.

Authorities from Columbus Fire and Worthington Fire responded to assist displaced residents and to investigate the fire’s cause. Families were also assisted at the scene by the Red Cross.

Fire officials at the scene said two of the apartments are uninhabitable at the moment while others suffered smoke and water damage, affecting about six apartments.
