COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A man is dead and a suspect has turned himself in after a shooting on the west side of Columbus Sunday night.

According to Columbus police, the shooting happened on the 700 block of Wedgewood Drive at approximately 9:48 p.m. inside of the apartments in a complex. The victim, 21-year-old Said Abdi Arbo, was pronounced dead at 9:57 p.m.

A 20-year-old man, Hassan Abdalla, later called Columbus police and said he was on Briggs Road. Abdalla confessed to the shooting and said he wanted to turn himself in. Police are still collecting the suspect’s statements.
